USS Constitution

launched in 1797 was chosen by President George Washington after the Constitution of the United States of America. Her first responsibilities with the US. Navy were to protect American merchant shipping during the Quasi-War with France and to overcome the problem with the Barbary pirates in the First Barbary War.

USS Constitution is most renowned for her actions and strategies during the War of 1812 against the United Kingdom, when she seized three merchant ships and also conquered five British warships namely HMS Guerriere, Java, Pictou, Cyane, and Levant.
